Admission Arrangements Consultation for 2027/2028

In accordance with the School Admissions Code, the Governing Board of Smithdon High School is undertaking a consultation on proposed changes to our admission arrangements for the 2027/2028 academic year.

Reason for Consultation
The School Admissions Code requires all admission authorities to consult when changes are proposed to their admission arrangements, or at least once every seven years.

Proposed Changes

• How a decision is made about a request for admission outside the normal age group regarding accelerated and decelerated.  The policy details our key principles.

Consultation Period
The consultation will run from 1 October 2025 to 31 January 2026.

How to Comment
We welcome your views on the proposed admission arrangements. All comments relating to the highlighted changes within the policy must be submitted in writing by the end of the consultation period, 31 January 2026.

Next Steps
At the end of the consultation period, the Governing Board will consider all responses before determining the final admission arrangements for 2027/28. A final copy of the determined policy will be published on our website by 28 February 2026.
