The Head Boy and Head Girl Welcome You to Smithdon High School

On behalf of the student body, we would like to wish you a warm welcome to Smithdon High School. For those new to the area, potential students and parents we would like to thank you for taking an interest in our fantastic school.

Jack-Harry Roper

Smithdon has provided me with the best learning opportunities from the very beginning of Year 7. Creative subjects such as art and drama have brought out the very best in me, building confidence in other areas whilst supporting the core subjects of English and Mathematics.

My favourite experience to this point was the amazing trip to New York run by the art department. I was able to see the unbelievable sights of the Empire State building along with the humbling remains at ground zero. I also loved the trip to Harry Potter World in Year 8. It was Magic!

Academic subjects such as Science and Mathematics have really stood out for me. The guidance and support I have received from the teachers has not only developed my knowledge, but also inspired me to look further into these subjects post 16 and possibly as a future career.

Stand out experiences are completing the Duke of Edinburgh Award, working with the school council, and running the Sports Leaders event with the local primary schools. However, the best weekend was the PGL activity break in Year 7: a brilliant bonding experience for all new students.

We have loved our time at Smithdon High School and know that you will too!
