The Show Must Go On!

West Norfolk Academies Trust seeks participants for virtual Talent Show

Although not all West Norfolk students can to go to school, that won’t stop them celebrating their talent in a time of national crisis.

Students of all ages and from all schools in west Norfolk are being encouraged and are eligible to participate in a virtual talent show; West Norfolk’s Got Talent!

Led by the West Norfolk Academies Trust, students from all local schools are encouraged to submit a two-minute video that showcases their talent in one of three categories:

  • Singing
  • Dancing
  • Playing an instrument

If that isn’t exciting enough, Eastenders and Hollyoaks actress Gillian Taylforth and sister Kim Taylforth, will be judging the talent to determine a primary and secondary winner in each of the categories.

West Norfolk Academies Trust CEO and Executive Headteacher, Andy Johnson said:

“This is a time when youngsters would normally be participating in end of year productions, therefore we’ve adapted to the restrictions associated with the coronavirus pandemic and are creating innovative opportunities and solutions to keep the arts alive.

We want this to be an opportunity for all schools and all students in the local area to virtually showcase their talents. We are thrilled to have the Taylforth sisters behind the project. It is vital that the arts continued to be championed so that they aren’t forgotten during these testing times.”

Applicants can visit www.westnorfolkacademiestrust.co.uk/newsandevents for guidelines and submission forms.

The deadline for video submissions is July 8th with the winners being presented with £100 in amazon vouchers.
